Final Copy can professionally write everything
from letters and resumes to major newspaper and magazine articles,
editorials, website content, memoirs, family and community histories.
Competitive freelance rates apply to the writing and/or editing of news
and magazine articles; rates for all other projects are negotiable.
Proofreading
Like the name implies, Final Copy focuses on the
“final copy” of your project. That’s the one that
counts the most. Our proofreading includes a check of grammar,
spelling, capitalization, punctuation and hyphenation. A cost
quotation and a completed sample are provided prior to final contracting.
Basic copy editing
Basic copy editing includes final proofreading,
suggestions on syntax and word choice. A cost quotation and
a completed sample are provided prior to final contracting.
Substantive editing
A lot of time and effort is put into substantive editing. With the
objective of smooth flowing, clearly understood language within a
cohesive whole, substantive editing includes all of what is done in
basic editing and proofreading, plus structural changes if necessary,
improvement in consistency of information and ideas and minor
formatting. A cost quotation and a completed sample are
provided prior to final contracting.
